FTC Targets Spam With Deceptive Subject Lines

Since there still isn't a federal law against spam, the best the FTC can do is go after spammers for "deceptive" practices... Of course, that makes it easy since so many spam emails use deceptive subject lines. So, now the FTC is moving to shut down one such spam house, for using deceptive subject lines, such as "did you hear the news" and "new movie info" to send people to a porn site. The FTC also claims that the guy in question, Brian D. Westby, would spoof return addresses so that innocent bystanders (like me!) would get all the bounces and angry replies from recipients. Having been on the receiving end of such spoofed emails, I hope they nail this guy.
