War Driven Popularity Of News Sites Is Short Lived

When the war in Iraq started, there were all sorts of stories about how news websites were getting a ton of traffic. It shouldn't surprise most people to know that such a traffic bump was short-lived. Most major news websites say their traffic is now back to a "pre-war" level. It appears people go to these sites for breaking news, but now that the war has reached a more "stable" state of affairs, people don't see any need to check in on CNN or MSNBC.

    Spam has returned to pre-war levels as well. Was quite nice, how on the first day of the bombing, I received almost no spam...
