Symbian The Backstreet Driver
Not surprisingly, as smart phones start to catch on, Symbian is excited about their growth potential, but they say they're willing to take a backseat when it comes to pushing the solution - and let their partners talk up the wonders of the Symbian offering. This isn't a huge surprise - of course - since basically they're saying that they're in a position now to not have to spend the marketing dollars. Of course, they could have taken the Intel strategy of promoting their own brand to try to get some demand-side pull for Symbian-based phones. Microsoft is certainly taking that strategy, so it remains to be seen if other factors can drive demand for Symbian phones over their own marketing efforts.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post.
