Mobile Phone Users Use More Minutes Than Land Line Users
It had to happen sooner or later. A new study shows that those who use mobile phones tend to use more minutes than those on land lines in the US. Of course, the specific numbers suggest it's not quite that clear. They say that the average mobile phone users uses 490 minutes, while the average household landline uses 1,250 minutes per month. So, the way they determined that mobile phone users use more minutes, is they divided the 1,250 minutes by the average number of people per household, 2.6, and came up with 480 minutes per person per household. I'm not sure if that's really a fair way to do the calculation - but clearly the trend is for increased mobile phone usage. Personally, if I'm on a really long phone call, I still prefer to use a landline, just to avoid the occasional dropped packets or disconnected calls.
