Customers Satisfied with Cellular Service
A Recent report from the US GAO (General Accounting Office) indicates that 80% of adult US wireless phone customers are satisfied with their service, while 10% were indifferent and 10% were dissatisfied. This is despite the related finding that on fifth of those surveyed were unable to normally complete 10% or more of their calls. These numbers make a lot of sense to me. I think people understand that wireless calls are not like landline, and that the mere fact that cellular works at all is an amazing accomplishment. The key distinction to make here is that while Americans are satisfied with cellular service, then are not satisfied with Cellular Customer Service. It is the dropped calls to 611 call centers (whether you call from a landline or a mobile), the long wait-times, and the limited problem-solving ability of the CSRs that is terrible.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
