How Intel Blew It On Wireless
David Coursey is claiming that Intel messed up by going with 802.11b in their Centrino systems. His argument, basically, is that the 802.11g will be much better, so they've built in obsolete technology. Say what? Damn. I guess I never should have bought that 486 computer way back when, knowing that eventually Intel would come out with the Pentium. Also, can't believe my latest computer only has a CD-RW/DVD drive. Why would Toshiba offer that, knowing that DVD-writable drives are going to be standard. Come on! There are always new technologies coming down the road. What you buy now will always be obsolete a week after you buy it. That's the way the computer world works. I don't see what Coursey has to complain about.
