802.11g Spec Approved, Next WiFi Spec Under Way

As expected, the 802.11g spec has been approved. There were no surprises in the ratification, and this shouldn't really have a huge impact since most manufacturers already have g products on the market based on what they expected the standard to be. This article also mentions that the IEEE is starting to investigate the next generation, which will be 802.11n. The standard prediction is that .11n will try to hit 100mbps, in order to match typical 100mbps ethernet.
