Rejection A Growth Area For The Business Of Online Dating

from the rejected-from-a-dating-site dept

It turns out, as the online dating world gets more competitive, some sites are rejecting applicants. The article starts out with a guy who applied to be on one of the dating sites, and was simply turned down with no explanation. The site claims they reject people, following an online psychological exam, if they seem likely to be depressed or have "low energy". The reporter tries to take this one example and show that other sites are "rejecting" people, but it really sounds like this is the only one. The other dating sites they mention are really just niche sites with a specific criteria to join. Though, they do point out that more sites are using psychological tests to tell you more about your personality. Amusingly, the guy who got rejected from the dating site says it's a great icebreaker for meeting women in real life. He just has a friend of his introduce them by saying, "this is my friend Nik, who was rejected by an online dating site".
