New Disney Space Ride Comes Complete With Real Life Nausea
from the sounds-like-fun dept
It's no secret that amusement parks these days are creating ever more sophisticated attractions (often including ever more heart stopping drops). Disney has usually been a bit more creative with their attractions, and the latest one sounds like a doozy. They're trying to replicate the experience of launching into space - complete with "nausea and brief moment of weightlessness". The brief moment of weightlessness sounds cool, but the nausea isn't particularly appealing. In initial runs of the ride, that queasy feeling became a little too strong for some, and ride attendants say they needed to "send for more towels" to help keep the floor clean. While that may be an endorsement for some kids these days, I think I'll pass.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Learn to Fly Instead
Of course when a C130 pilot does that to you and a cargo hold full of marines and an unsecured 150kilo tool chest, it`s not nearly and intersting or fun.
