Older Voters Vote For Online Voting (Maybe)

from the who-says-they're-not-tech-savvy? dept

Many of the advocates for online voting, including those in Michigan who used online voting in their primary, talk about how it will help bring more young people into the voting process. The idea, of course, is that young adults are the most comfortable with computers and the internet (and are often the least likely to vote), and this will be a very easy way to encourage them to vote. So imagine everyone's surprise when it turned out that many of the online voters in Michigan's primary turned out to be older voters. Unfortunately, the article is woefully short on actual numbers to back up this statement, so it's difficult to really look at what happened.
