A Stop Sign For Mobile Spam?

In an attempt to cut out mobile spam, firms in the UK have come up with a supposedly unified system that will allow a single "stop" command to be sent to anyone the user wants to stop spamming them. By making the stop command common across all services, they hope that makes it much easier and less confusing for users to figure out how to opt-out of commercial services they've signed up for. Of course, that only works for legitimate commercial services that people signed up for. While sometimes that can be considered "spam," real spammers are not legitimate, and simply don't care. So, while this is a nice to have, it's not really a "spam" solution.
