Self Replicating Machine Guru Interview

from the replicate-this dept

Someone anonymous writes in with "This is an interview with Adrian Bowyer who's researching into making a self replicating machine that will also make any household object that we ask it to. Because they're self replicating they'll be really cheap and he's going to release the plans free anyway." Sounds great, but might be a bit optimistic. We've heard of similar efforts before, so until we see it in action, it might pay to be a bit skeptical. Plus, where's someone complaining about the whole "gray goo" stuff? Isn't that required with any talk about self-replicating machines?

Yeah, I've talked with the Asguard about this. They don't think it's a good idea.
