Newsflash: Kids Can Watch Porn On The Video iPod

The arrival of the video iPod heralds a new frontier in parents' battle against their kids watching porn, apparently, because "children quickly can download adult content onto their iPods and then take it away from the home for easy viewing elsewhere". You mean like they've been able to do after they found Dad's stash of Playboys for years? Employers are also at risk, now, because people might bring porn to work with them. None of these are new problems, they're just on an iPod now, so it becomes a big deal. If somebody wanted to bring porn to work, they'd do it with or without an iPod. If a kid wants to watch porn, chances are they'll find a way with or without the iPod. Once again, the technology is separate from the behavior, and in any case, the iPod is weak target: there are plenty of other ways for kids to surreptitiously view porn that existed well before they could do it on the iPod. To lay the blame at the device's feet is a bit much.

heheh, im 16 and dont have a video ipod, i still find ways.... its a part of growing up, im sure everyone looked at their dads playboys when growing up, but now us kids are getting more high tech about it and instead of magiazine pictures, its videos and laptops.

Since the Internet entered the home porn has always been there. Why does the extension of porn to the video Ipod seem newsworthy?

It seems like one of those "...duh" momements.

This is like saying watchout, kids could download blueprints to a pipe bomb on their Ipod. Of course they can, if it's published material, good or bad it can be transfered to storage devices like the Ipod.

I agree, I think it would be a bigger problem with kids on the PSP since more kids will have one than a video ipod, and since it can connect to the internet and download on the go. but even so, nothing can be done about it.

Im all for blaming this on Myspace.

But like mike said, wow umm I can also put porn on a CD, take Pictures, Have pictures on my Camera, Have Pictures/Movies on my Phone and have Pictures/Movies on my PSP. No big freakin deal. Remember in our society, its much easier to fault other things then ourselves.

The chances are that children would not of know that you could use your ipod for porn in till you put that piece of information on the news.

To be honest I think ipod porn is just a ploy to sale more ipods. because first off what about all these damn PDA and pocket PC that cost cheaper than a ipod and do so much more.

i mean duh not as if teenagers can't have jobs an no bills so why not save up and buy one.
