from the who-needs-reliability? dept

Over in South Korea, where mobile data usage is quite common, prosecutors will now be able to send legal notices, such as indictments, by text message. It's not quite as bad as it may sound -- as anyone receiving them would first have to sign up to receive legal notices that way. However, since SMS still isn't completely reliable, you have to wonder how they're going to guarantee that these notices are properly delivered.
