Always On Goes Mainstream
For those of us who have been involved in the mobile/wireless space for years, reading an article like the latest one in the BBC will seem like we've been transported back half a decade. It's about how ubiquitous wireless changes how people live beyond just letting them connect from anywhere. Things like WiFi and other wireless technologies aren't just about always being connected -- but about how that always-on connection lets you do things that simply couldn't be done before. So while it doesn't read like anything new to those of us too focused on the space, seeing articles like this suggest that such views are becoming mainstream. Of course, that also means it's only a few months before we start reading about the backlash to the downsides of always on connectivity.
