Save The Date: Next Techdirt Greenhouse On June 10th
from the save-the-date dept
Wanted to give everyone a heads up that our next Techdirt Greenhouse event will be Saturday June 10th. We're very excited after the wonderful turnout and experience at the last event back in March. Again, the event will be held at the Plug & Play facilities in Sunnyvale. We had a great experience working with the team there, and are focusing on making the event itself even better before we consider taking it on the road (as some have requested). If you are unfamiliar with the event, you can read about it here, or read the recap of the last event. It is not your standard conference or product showcase. It's an "idea workshop" that involves a high level of participation from all attendees. There will be a number of short presentations from individuals and companies, all of which will involve a specific question or issue they are dealing with. Attendees are then broken up into small groups to "workshop" the question. Everyone gets to see a lot of interesting new and different projects, meet and network with a lot of smart people over the course of a day and work on interesting challenges. We've been busy over the last month lining up the presenters for this event and are already very excited by the existing line up. We still have presenter slots open, however, so if you're interested, please contact us. In the meantime, we'll start attendee registrations sometime next week.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
