So Much For 'Freedom From Porn' As iPhone 4 Sex Chat Services Prepare For Business

It really was just a few weeks back that Steve Jobs defended the closed nature of the iPad and iPhone app store as offering "freedom from porn." But even Jobs must know that when you offer up new ways to communicate, one of the first businesses that takes advantage of it is going to be the porn industry. So while I may still not be convinced that video calling is really set to take off, it appears that there is one industry set to embrace the iPhone's "FaceTime" video calling: porn. Apparently, at least one company is already looking for women to be part of a new sex chat offering using FaceTime on the iPhone:

Starting an online interactive pornography firm where woman will use the iphone 4 to video chat with potential customers on a pay as you go basis.

Hours are flexible, pay will increase as the business builds. Woman will receive a free iphone 4 to use as personal time when not working. Woman will talk to potential clients and chat with them and perform various acts as desired by clients. All information will be confidential.

Freedom from porn, Steve? It seems that some "think different."

It's not an app so it can't be denied by Apple. :P

Now I think there's a good chance that video phones will take off. Usually the porn industry is the one that pulls technology along (think VHS and DVD).

Highly ironic considering Apple's infamous 1984 commercial. Barring people from accessing something and then calling it freedom certainly sounds like doublethink to me.

or so I have heard... not that there is anything wrong with that...Te he he. P0rn! They will kill that. Some dumb ass politician will say it is prostitution, grandstand about how it is baaad, and MUST be stopped. Wont someone please think about the children?

I am thinking of the children. What about those little girls who grow up with few marketable skills but an awesome body? How will they go to school to become vets or dental hygienists if they don't have money coming in from sources like this?

There was an article a while ago from when they purged all the porn mentioning that Playboy was mysteriously missed. They most likely handed them a bucket of money to be the exclusive porn provider for the iPhone.

Well said, I was thinking the same thing. Aren't they still one of the only industries that use the multi-angle features on DVD's?

PR0N definitely helps innovation. Now only if it would help innovate our ISP's to produce faster Internet connections....

Forget about porn...
I did think about the porn industry as to them embracing face time but really, forget that! Do you remember the big deal on the news about that girl whose picture was circulated of her undressed in the shower? Well just think what we are going to deal with now - Girl face times in the shower and while talking to her friends! Showing what's going on! Kids face timing late at night doing "face time sex"! Instead of worrying about what the porn industry sleazebags will do with this technology, perhaps the legislators needs to gear up for a whole new set of laws.
