DailyDirt: Big Food Heists

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

Who hasn't sampled some grapes at the grocery store before buying a bunch? That's a pretty minor theft, and presumably one that stores take into account when they're pricing grapes. The really big problems are when huge amounts of food go missing. Recently, there have been a few bizarre food-related heists, and in case you missed them, here they are. If you'd like to read more awesome and interesting stuff, check out this unrelated (but not entirely random!) Techdirt post.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    Stolen food?

It's just so hard to swallow. I can't stomach why anyone would do such.

    Missing Maple Syrup Suspects

I suggest questioning a certain penelope and ralph. They've been known to break into factories, using large quantities of resources in their unlicensed kart production efforts.

"An investigation is still on-going to find out who could be behind such a sickly sweet score. "

    Now don't sugar coat it.
