DailyDirt: Robots That Save Lives

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

Robots are becoming essential tools for all sorts of tasks. Some jobs that simply can't be done by people are perfect for remote-controlled machines. As a tribute to our hard-working metal friends, here's a short list of some bots that are making the world a safer place. By the way, StumbleUpon can recommend some good Techdirt articles, too.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    Machines

You can post all the feel-good robot stories you like, but that won't change the fact that 3 billion human lives will end on August 29th, 2018, and that the survivors of the nuclear fire will live only to face a new nightmare...

    ...the war against the Machines.

    Re: Machines

Nonsense! Nostradamus predicted it would all end in July 1999.

Or actually September 1999, because amazing seer he was, he failed to predict the change from Julian to Gregorian calendars.
