DailyDirt: Dressing For Success...

from the urls-we-dig-up dept

It's not an uncommon question to wonder if it's okay to wear the same clothes every day under varying circumstances. Many folks don't think it's a big deal to wear the same outfit (as long as it's clean) all the time because it's like a uniform. But just don't "steal" the black turtleneck and jeans look -- come up with your own signature outfit, please. After you've finished checking out those links, take a look at our Daily Deals for cool gadgets and other awesome stuff.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

To be fair, a suit costs much more than a dress and distinctions are subtle in color only since a good suit fits perfectly.

Huh? I used to work in the garment district in Toronto and though a Bay Street suit sets you back 5k or more at the top end women's fashion quickly exceeds that by several factors Accessories and the requirements for multiple outfits quickly outstrips whatever a male counterpart has to lay out.

    It gets worse.

Any female celebrity seen in public in the same outfit twice is going to be mocked.

I was always impressed by the scientist character in The Fly, who had several identical suits and sweaters hung up in his wardrobe, so he didn't have to make a decision each day on what to wear.

I was tempted to try it, but I was always afraid that people would start to talk about me behind my back...

Not surprising that nobody noticed the suit. They basically only come in navy blue and dark grey and for tv are basically plain. Any small observable variations are lost at a distance

    Aussies all look alike

Is that the same newscaster who told the Dalai Lama and the pizza shop joke?

It's hard to tell; Aussies all look the same to me.

Alright, does anyone really buy the guy's sexism story? My money is on this guy just is just plain cheap and wanted an excuse to tell his co-workers when they noticed.

Women are starting to try to have a "personal uniform" now, though... maybe it'll work for some female celebs, but not others.

Yes, you right I think don’t be conscious about the same dress on the repetition of every day I dress the same jeans all the month because I love it I make my own Custom jeans on my size and design it’s really comfortable I think you should try it.
