Daily Deal: Last Chance For Private Internet Access VPN Deal

from the good-deals-on-cool-stuff dept

This is the last chance to grab a 2-year subscription for Private Internet Access VPN service for just $59.95 (that's 24% off the regular price) before time runs out. Private Internet Access has some good reviews and has publicly answered TorrentFreak's serious questions about its privacy policies and logging practices. PIA says, "We do not log, period. This includes, but is not limited to, any traffic data, DNS data or meta (session) data. Privacy IS our policy."

Most of our readers are familiar with what a VPN service does -- and VPN deals are very popular around here. But if you're not using a VPN and don't know why you'd want to, check out this post from 2013. If you have any interest in being anonymous on the internet, use a VPN service.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Only thing that bothers me is they don't offer 256 AES when using Openvpn in linux. Only in Windows/Mac OS

    based in USA

Unfortunately, the company appears to be based in the USA. I fear that using them would weaken my anonymity rather than enhance it. Too bad, since I am in the market for a new VPN.

    Re: BBC?

I very much doubt it because Downton Abbey isn't on the BBC. It's an ITV program.
