Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

No deal, sorry
But following the link (to the sales site) results in the following:
First, the site wants to run Javascript from 19 -- FUCKING NINETEEN -- different sites. That's braindamaged.
Second, after picking through a few of those in order to guess at the set required just to look at the pictures of the item, a popup rears its hideous head and covers the page...with the pictures...that I want to see...of the item that I might want to buy.
This is abusive, insulting, stupid, and ridiculous. I'm not blaming TD for this, but if you have influence on the morons behind this alleged "e-commerce" site, please, for the love of all that is holy, beat some sense into them. It is NOT necessary or desirable or even remotely reasonable to have all that crap on a web site just to buy a damn piece of luggage.
(And NO, I won't be buying one. I'm going to need a stiff drink just to flush the experience out of my brain.)
