Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Standard driver kit rule applies: buy ten of 'em if you want to be able to find one when you really need it. (Or is it just me with that problem?)

        Re: Re:

I imagine we've all found ourselves stuck using a butter knife as a multi-tool (screwdriver, pry-bar, oxyacetylene welding kit, etc), but... has anyone ever made dinner and opened the the kitchen utensil drawer only to find a socket set, a multimeter, some allen-wrenches, and a Dremel?

This being TD, I guess I shouldn't ask 'has anyone', but rather 'how many of you have'.

But what if I haven't upgraded yet and I'm still running an old 32-bit system?? Will this 64-bit driver kit work with 32bit device drivers?

    Not much of a deal

Harbor Freight has a 100 PC bit set for $9.99 and it's rated 4.5 out of 5.

If you were selling this for $15 I might consider buying just to help support TechDirt.

Re: Not much of a deal

A made in USA tool set of high quality heat-treated forged steel that lasts a lifetime would be well worth even double that price, but this kind of cheap Chinese made crap that bends or breaks the first time you put it to hard use can be found (and hopefully left) at any dollar store.
