Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Slightly fancier google cardboard headset in plastic instead of well..cardboard.

Should make it clear this CANNOT run gearVR or Steam or PSVR or Oculus Rift software. Only the very limited google-cardboard apps.

    stupid Question

WHY in hell would I want to use a PHONE in this??

WHy dont they design these to use PADS/TABLETS...
    GET A HINT MAKERS...
I would rather spend $100-200 for a tablet then to let my KID use my PHONE..
And TABLETS last longer on a single CHARGE..

AND until they create a Wireless link to your computer..
This really wont have enough power to give you are REAL game environment..

      Re: stupid Question

Probably because phones weigh a lot less than tablets do.

      Re: stupid Question

WHY don't YOU understand how THE CAPS lock works on your KEYboard?

This DEVICE will work just FINE with a TABLET that has a screen size between 4.7 and 6 inches diagonal. A 13 inch TABLET would LOOK pretty silly strapped TO your head and because of the SIZE WOULD need to be several inches away from YOUR eyes so you might BUMP into things.

        Re: Re: stupid Question

        NOt really..
a Larger screen with a Wide angle Focus, as with the Old Large screen TVs...would make it great, and give you Wider separation in the screens, and SIDES..
