Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    AND??

I need to say this..they Wont print this on the box..
That to fully charge the Battery inside, on its Own(Just using the sun to re-charge) will take a few days..OR MORE..

Myself, I like th elarger Panel, and a small recharge bank, Some are over 4 times the Charge as this one, Which can charge allot of things many times..(if you need the power)

Also, this is considering you use this in Emergency, and not every time your kids need a recharge in the back seat.

    Re: AND??

I was going to say, that TINY solar cell to charge an iPad, it's laughable!!! That thing will need to be in good sun for a week to fully charge it's battery, and I still don't think it would fully charge the iPad. Maybe the iPhone.

When you start doing the math, it's like, wow, that's not going to really be practical. My trip will be over before this thing is fully charged.

What you need is something like this at least!!!

    Re: Re: AND??

Or what I like to do and really more practical, is bring a fully charged Battery Pack. A nice LARGE one!!! SOmething that will charge your devices enough times for as long as you're away from a power outlet to charge it back up again.

If you're really a way for a long time. A couple really large solar panels or something large and portable and a big battery pack plugged into it to charge up and then you can charge your devices from that at night. It needs to be sized up to your energy demands, needs. your solar panels are also never going to work at peak power all day. It may say it can generate so much. Cut that in half to be more realistic. But that solar battery thing above is a joke. I'm sure it's ok for a battery pack that you fully charge up at home, but don't expect much from that solar panel on it.
