High Tech Levi's Store
from the what-you'll-do-for-a-perfect-pair-of-jeans dept
Interesting article on the new Levi's store in San Francisco. The store seems about as high tech as they come. I thought it was interesting as it offers a glimpse of what brick and mortar retail stores might be like in the future. Of course, the article points out a lot of the very questionable privacy issues brought up by the store taking and recording a ton of personal info from customers. I think that's something to definitely be careful of, but I really doubt that Levi's is simply trying to soften us all up for the New World Order and black helicopters.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
