Customers Hate eBay

from the how-to-run-a-business dept

eBay, which became so big by focusing on its community aspect, and which has been under constant attack recently for its failure to keep servers online, has now pissed off more customers by changing its fee policy. Specifically, they're trying to charge more for reserve auctions. Apparently these customers are hard to please, as they felt the need to scream loudly. eBay has since dropped the pricing change but is looking for a new way to implement it.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    The Dirtbags of Ebay

Ebay is the dogs arse - they had one seller called Supatoolsonline, and he and his partner, kept on getting the money from people, but they kept making claims (amongst lost of excuses) that they never received money for the goods....

Thier negative feedback was dropping to like 95%, and lots and lots of completely unrelated people were all saying the same thing.....

They are scumbags, they rip people off.

So I took them to the tribunal and got the thing I paid for.

Trouble is, the scumbags in Ebay admin, well when a seller complains about non payment etc.. they automatically let the shit fight play out... even when the seller advertised the product was new, when in fact it was second hand - you could see in the photograph that the fans were dusty - and the stupid fucks in Ebay ADMIN get told about it...

    And they do nothing.

Yet when a crooked seller rips off hundreds of people, and they all complain to ebay that they have been ripped off... the arseholes do fucking nothing about the seller....

    Fuck Ebay.

supatoolsonline where in the hell are they?

I paid over $600 to the scumbags Supatoolsonline for a welder which was to have been my husband's xmas present. After a month gone by without receiving the item I got in contact with Supatools only to have them tell me that it would definitely be only 2 weeks into January and I'd have it - there suppliers had let them down! By February I was furious and tried calling again and they never answered. I have been trying ever since and now the number is no longer connected. Ebay will do nothing! Because I paid by cheque I can do nothing.
Does anyone know where these scumbags were set up? It would be worth the trip to Canberra to pay them a personal visit and demand my money back!

    ebay polilcies

Ebay allows their sellers to sell stolen property. Stolen images specially good for ebay. If you ask them to remove the image ebay will tell you “register your image with us and then we will remove it”. Therefore, ebay encourage their sellers to display stolen images from websites, so they can force the unsuspecting website and image owner to register with them. I guess this is one way to get clients.. ebay must be despret or they are just plain greedy and doesn't matter how, they want to get people to sing up with them..

    Ebay is a HOG

I've been selling and buying on ebay since 1999, and at this point I'm about to give it up, ebay just cares about collecting there fees, they don't care about the seller at all, I have been able to maintain a 100% positive feedback all that time until recently I had a persons that purchased s new item from us received it then claimed it wasn't as described, I then had them return it for s refund, when it came back it wasn't even what the buyer purchased from us, so guess what after I tried contacting ebay about this with no luck I then emailed the buyer about this, well the buyer then filed a claim and ebay refunded my money back to him with out even talking to me about it, then next thing you know the buyer left me a negative feedback which was the only one I ever got since I started selling on ebay in 1999, my point is I lost the product, loss my money and got s negative feedback, the buyer can get away with anything and the buyer gets screwed and ebay that us collecting there fees from us the seller doesn't give a crap. Like I said ebay is s HOG!

    recent interaction with ebay

Not to long ago I made a purchase on ebay. There were several items from the same seller. The order was very late which propted me to enquire about what was up. Seller informed me that it would be sent shortly. In a few days I received a package which was missing one of the items. I informed the seller of the problem and was told that it was out of stock. Ithen filed for a refund. But was told that the shipping information said that it had been delivered (original shipping invoice included the item now listed as out of stock) therefore I was not able to get a refund because the original invoice said it had been delivered. This where it get ready bizarre, ebay's own tracking of the events stated that the item was out of stock, but insisted that it had been delivered so I was not entitled to a refund. I then left feedback for the seller telling others how I had been treated. Suprise, suprise ebay informed me that my feedback had been cancelled.

eBay screws NJ woman, buyer, 86

eBay suspended indefinitely a NJ woman, 86, for buying sports cards. She’s raised “serious security concerns.” Give me a break. It is arrogant beyond belief. Call eBay.
    <
Don’t buy on eBay. It will suspend you because it feels like it. That's right. Taking eBay to Small Claims court and suggest you should do the same without an attorney.
