Very Small Mobile Phones
from the gadgets dept
There are two things that I, personally, look for in a mobile phone: size and sound quality. In fact, size wins out over quality anyway. So, I'm happy to see a lot of new tiny phones are getting ready to make there way into everday use. Of course, the downside is that you have smaller screenspace to handle all the fancy new features that these phones are trying to incorporate. At this point, I don't care. I still don't use my phone for anything other than a phone. I realize that some folks are drooling over some of the new features, but I wonder how many people actually want to surf the web on their phone (beyond the novelty aspect). I can maybe understand getting directions, or checking traffic, but beyond that, I haven't seen a killer app, though I'm sure one will show up sooner or later.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
