I'm suddenly reminded reading this what George Carlin had to say on this. If honesty was suddenly introduce to the government the whole dam system would fall apart...
I did mention in the past few weeks that Anonymous needed a PR campaign though the end game seems to fit there agenda which leaves most of us that take issue with these companies with a big fat smile on our face.
If said arguments given for said ruling are based in the best interest of the [company/public] you have my viewpoint quite clearly here.
As upholding the law on contract rights this is a big win and that is certainty in the public's best interest.
Though I'm still wondering if anybody is going to bring up a first amendment issue on fair-use in these cases. Or have I missed that story along the line? One question I have is it really in the best interest of the public that the business, or in this case the press, has power to squelch speech in any shape or form regardless of contribution?
In Fairness the terrorism thing, (ye know, with him that shall not be shown being horcruxed) was getting tired, the went back to an old stand-by, or rather the DOE toes were getting stepped on so they had to step it up and look useful. Like they did a short while ago on getting a warrant issued in a educat... i mean criminal case.
Because Homeland Securities' objectives can be one with minds a loan. (ya, I've been thinking about that one for a week now)
When Orwell thought of double-think he didn't have this % people(AC) in mind. The government loyalist. Or maybe he did.... the guy putting our dear hero in the black room.
When our own press and government officials (on the record in broadcast and asked directly) don't even know the full story it makes for great comedic entrainment.
Because in "the good ol' days" we actually had people lining up to honor our fallen comrades when they got off loaded planes. Oh and solved a national mystery of who dun it in 3 months(Pearl Harbor) rather than 3 years wish the Presidents statements redacted and with thermal expansion as the mention of a third building that fell (B7 if you didn't know yourself).
As for other reasons I can think of a few. Casualty reports on both ends, captures or kills in action and most of all the actual dollar amount going to these wars, or rather then contractors (I still wonder who's getting paid more). Ye know, all the things we had before National Security was deemed a silence tool so nobody sees it and its out of our minds. Or rather, I need to say, "No talking, No talking" in the best German accent I can muster. All things being equal, I still wonder where the big ant-police action people are. Oh yes, dancing in the Jefferson Memorial being escorted out by swat.
In case you missed it, Transparency is just another in a long line of failures, wait no its not. Transparency implies see though, but nobody said how opaque it can be.
We don't grant enough protection to that part of the public who does NOT want to hear your exercise of your First Amendment rights. It's not always that "the government" doesn't want you speaking out. Quite often, it's the public itself that's not particularly interested in such demonstrations, so why should they have to step around the speakers? Make the speakers get out of the way.
Right and instead of asking them they ask a higher power. Seems the Christian thing to do.
Use of force needs to be only used when there is risk of bodily harm, period.
Sometimes employed? I believe its a simple matter of comparing magna to marvel's business practices regardless of there views on the so called war on piracy.
If it was a simple matter of contract law I'd agree with you. But right now its simple economics based on "sometimes" free distribution. Also this isn't limited to animation. Most of the animation I watch is in support of the magna. Often times the animation doesn't even cover half of whats covered.
Need an American example in recent times? Check out the series Jericho and the comic book series it spawned in civil war; most fans (in letters to the editors) haven't picked up a comic book in 30 years.
Its really funny here that the anime industry they support "piracy" of there product a 100%. Do you know the most constantly up to date thing on Netflix?
When you lower... er get rid a bar for the base in things like magna there derivative works see greater coverage as well. Sadly I don't think many other industries are going to catch on to this any time soon. Minus the notable exceptions in the case studies here.
Same thing goes for any bar to anything.

There's an story by a comedian, I forget his name, that said Hollywood depictions dangerous precedents for paradigm shifts and by then your totally lost but he explains it in example.
May I direct you to IA being vilified for being rats, spys and being the bad guys in any cop.
IA is a great example of double-think and it applies to so so so many things.
Now the above example with harbinger is IA isn't "the" end all solution. Agreed but I beg to ask what removes the issue altogether?
Well this one might blow you minds but before there were mobs there was a little known virtue of community. Laws, Courts & Police came way way way after. And ye know, the system worked where [fill in the blank] by your peers actually meant all of them(Wrap your head around that double-think for a while).
You can easily conclude this system will never work in a city where the average person doesn't know there neighbor's name. Then I ask you as an individual described by a classification of words able to ever get an unbiased view on you? Double-entrende included.
So given that answer can we police ourselves... oh shit, that's right, fear of reprisal. The average city cop doesn't even live in the same county. The only one publicly involved are the ones voted into office. Then we wonder why we have a police state when the only qualifications you need is to go through is passing classes in an academy defined by who? Yeah I think you get it now its not by the people, and there my friends, is the problem.
Oh and to really freak you out same goes for Langley, HAFB, ad nauseam and any branch of the military as well. Yeah, this is why originally we only had militias.
