"Would that the owner of this blog be as concerned about Palin's 1st amendment rights "
Ahh so unfortunate, you were doing so well until the last sentence when you showed you don't even know what the first amendment is.
To summarise
* Free exercise of religion
* Freedom of speech
* Freedom of the press
* Peaceably assemble
* Right to petition
* Blocking Gov. from establishing an official religion (something it seems most conservatives would like to see overturned)
* It does not cover shutting up anyone who does not agree with you or who says something about you that you do not like
If anything Palin is trying to violate others 1st amendment rights, mainly freedom of speech and freedom of the press
"Palin were repeated about Obama's family or him? Hey, Obama has great calves ;)"
You don't watch Fox News do you? What they have said about Obama and co would make Palin's head spin like the exorcist and have her paying enough to lawyers to fund a small country
"They Are Frightened."
Yep, because anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that "Hockey Mom" is not an appropriate leader of the most powerful country in the world, just like the "guy down at the local bar" (Bush) was not.
If she had just been trying to give that image to appeal to certain class of voters it could have been ignored by those who know this truth, but (un)fortunately her actions, speech's, interviews have proven that "backward small town Hockey mom" is an appropriate description of her level of intellect and knowledge.
Actually thinking about it, think I just insulted a hell of a lot of real hockey mom's by including Palin in their number
World can only hope that America has learned it's lesson, people who seem like "ordinary people" should not be elected to the job of leader of the country.
That job requires someone "extraordinary" and Palin, but her own admission, is anything but that
"It's difficult to see how it makes sense to enforce the lower price. It was a clear mistake, "
That it was a clear mistake is immaterial, because next time it might not be "so clear".
This will make sure that next time they check their figures before advertising
You mean the news service that puts about the first 40 words of the article and then links to the source? Yes that is something to complain about...not
Or it is the fact it also links to about a dozen other sources with the same article/subject allowing people to pick who's version they want to read....lot more likely
Well what do you expect from a group that is owned and controled by the newspaper groups?
They are basicly the UK version of the newspaper industry's RIAA, but with a more narrow focus, selling useage rights to clippings of articles.
Considering how much revenue (or more case how little, 20 million divided between 1400 members is chicken feed) they generate they are probably getting worried that newspapers will dump them so they are trying to improve their bottom line.
But immaterial anyway, if ever went to court they would most likely lose, especially as they are a private org (just like the RIAA), not a Gov. one that can actually make real laws and regulations
Just because i say anyone who links to me must pay me $10 does not actually make it law...though if you want to i will be quite happy to accept the money
Not really a good argument, unless you also agree with CCTV being everywhere because that is pretty much the same argument they use
Personally streetview does not bother me in the slightest because I know what it is, just vans going around public areas taking pics of locations, snap shots of just that moment in time.
No real concerns of invasion of privacy for me in that and actually for historical reasons it might be very interesting, could you imagine being able to go though historical records of street view 10 years from now and being able to see things like how your street/town has changed?
On the other hand, all the CCTV camera's constantly running, with no idea who is behind them or what they are being used for beyond the fact they are meant to be there to monitor/police us......
1,900,000/24 = 79166.66 per song
Looks at friend Ipod, 18000 songs
18,000* 79,166.66 = 1,424,999,880
I think i have figured it out, it's an clever plan to solve the US national debt, they just need to find 12,000 odd people like my friend and the debt problem of the USA is solved!
So are they going to disable every IPOD so it can only play stuff provided by Itunes and ban every other MP3 player/Music phone that does not tie the music download to an "official retailer"
As others have pointed out, this was not about the right to blog anonymously but rather about the press finding out who is was and allowing them to reveal this information
As you specifically mentioned the first amendment, lets have a partial recap of it, amongst other things it covers "freedom of speech" and the "freedom of the press", both of which the blogger was trying to prevent the Times from having
Thus if this case had been in the states and things went according to the constitution, the result would have been the exact same

Who is in charge is President is incapacitated/dies? The Vice President
So yes, Palin was very much "one heartbeat" away
Vice President is not just there for window dressing to make the other main runner look good

Lots more out there, including them putting on people asking for him to be killed to asking for Bin Laden to attack america to get rid of him. Never mind the 101 occasions of them accusing him of being "anti american"
