Not sure what you are saying here I too work in the radio industry. If cyblockers I cant syndicate my show to all the stations so MPAA get ready to get sued.
As the monopolies being created are as real as communism is in China or Cuba. in fact come to think of it they are exactly the same as communism therefore are all those who want ACTA or protect IP communists?
BBC wrong on this though I can see where they come from. but then they also think they should be the only people allowed to broadcast (still)in the UK.
public performance is public performance whether it is from a juke box or a live band or a DJ on stage. There should be no difference in price the volume level is no different.
I think Dave is slightly wrong on this yes if all you listen too is the same station you listen at home on the air. There are thousands of stations out there try a different one. Though I do like Daves music and have featured it on my shows before now.
Not all stations everywhere are the same, with the station I work for in the UK we took the decision at the start that major labels would be secondary to unsigned bands we don't operate a "playlist", each DJ has the freedom to play any music he / she want to play. that way we get a greater verity of music to the top 40 stations.
"Both works are said to take place in a "dystopian corporate future in which everyone is allotted a specific amount of time to live." mmm who wrote "LOGANS RUN" from the 70s don't think it was this guy.
Is not the Mardi Gras a once a year event and basically a giant carnival. What the hell are they fighting over a name used once a year for a carnival? there is surely no mileage financially in this for either of them. by that I mean they cannot make money from this event. I am sure that someone will correct me if I am wrong.
I cant find who voted for this though it now goes to the European parliament UK i think for sure voted for in the council of ministers. The one voice in parliament (MEP) against would be Christian Engström, Pirate party MEP sweden readers in the EU may care to contact him.and also their own MEP.
No one will take any notice people just don't care about copyright in the UK. The days of the labels are limited. HMV record stores (about the only national chain left) is in trouble and may go bankrupt. I would say due to people not wanting plastic discs any more. Itunes and Amazon now have the market.
I assume the one line poem would be a small part of a larger publication, therefore quoting the one loin poem would be fair use when criticising the whole publication.
would not matter much in the UK as there would be no copyright on the book of kells here. Several years ago I did something similar with something else of similar age.
