Plagiarism is where I take something suitably obscure of Shakespeare's or Byron's and put it online under my name. Copyright infringement? Of works in the Public Domain? Argument failed. Next strawman, please.
I don't see it as a link, but that is probably because I have disabled most of the javascript served up by Techdirt [...] It's been fixed since. [...] (unless Mike has already removed the tags.) There weren't any tags in the first place. I used tags on the official EFF website link, yes, but not on the fake EFF website link above it because it was my intention not to link to the fake site at all.
[SoundCloud] has also been completely ridiculous about fair use, telling users that it doesn't recognize it, since it's only a US concept. As ridiculous as that seems on its face, given the fact that the US is not the only country to recognise fair use, SoundCloud does have a point. Germany, where the company is based, is one of many European countries that don't contain a broad fair use exception; rather, they provide explicit exceptions for specific uses of copyrighted works. Generally these exceptions are construed strictly, meaning that the publishing platform could be shit out of luck depending upon whether the PRS sues in the UK or in Germany. :(
Re: You mean: "a woman who played" SOMEONE ELSE'S "music to her horses"
You mean: a woman who played her legally purchased copies of the music other people created to her horses. You know, since we're being pedantic and all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Personally, I wouldn't click on electronicfrontierfoundation.org when I know for a fact it's supposed to be https://eff.org. They've never used the full name in their URL in the time that I've been aware of them, and they adopted automatic encryption about the same time that this site did.
I believe it was in War Games where it was pointed out that both Russia and the US have equal nuclear capabilities and if one of them fired a missile and the other country retaliated, between them they'd turn this planet into a radioactive wasteland. I remember the computer saying that it was like a game of Tic-tac-toe: "The only way to win is not to play."
The difference between Ed Snowden and Junaid Hussein is that Hussein was actually threatening American interests, whereas Snowden was threatening the interests of the US government by protecting those of citizens internationally. That's why Hussein got killed in a drone strike and Snowden wasn't. ;(
“If you really want to keep using those, and I’m not saying we shouldn’t, at a minimum we should put a metal detector on the other side,” the Wisconsin Republican said in an interview. Or the TSA could just combine metal detectors with patdowns sans groping. You know the method that worked quite well for decades before the invention of the useless body scanners.
Hmm, you're right. Being Autistic, I often focus on the details and lose sight of the bigger picture, which is how I made the error you helpfully pointed out. :)
