Like a sculptor works his magic by removing unnecessary mass, Tim crafted this peace by carefully removing any mentions of an infamous misguided editorial posted in the Chicago Maroon (University of Chicago student newspaper).

It works, but it is buggy, so sometimes I buy docs and nothing gets uploaded. Today is an-OK day. Here is an example: I just recapped this docket and docs 27,28,29.

Whether it is a coincidence, or these guys have some sense of humor, Griffin is the surname of Herbert Wells's Invisible Man.
I'd bet it's a coincidence, although some trolls were caught being somewhat creative (e.g., Prenda's "Under the Bridge Consulting").
Around 200 declarations signed by "Griffin" were filed nationwide in 2012-2013 by a dozen of attorneys. It's way more impudent than Prenda's use of Alan Cooper's name.

The Chilling Effects haters, no doubt, would argue that this is why it's important to remove Chilling Effects itself from Google, because people searching on Google might not find the originals, but would then find the takedown notices with links back to the originals.
In the dark 1930s in Russia there was a concept of “smuggling under the cover of criticism.” No matter how you cursed at an ideological enemy (essentially everyone not singing panegyrics to the Leader), if you quoted him/her, you could be prosecuted and sent to a labor camp.

The confusion is resulted from the first (wrong) link in the article. Should be this.
None of the Hansmeier's ADA lawsuits is a class action: class action lawsuits were mantioed in relation to his amateurish attempt to become a "professional objector," which is a different type of extortionate practice.

Re: Re: Awesome news!
Can't agree more.
Despite my sometimes heated words towards trolls, I'm not a vindictive person, not at all: many former abusers faded into obscurity, good for them.
Nonetheless, I state (logically -- not only emotionally) that Paul Hansmeier and John Steele must be incarcerated ASAP: there is absolutely no hope that they will stop harming innocent people.

Re:
We will watch the situation closely, and once we become aware of a new local opportunist, we will make sure he'll receive a welcome letter describing Steele's and Hansmeier's past shenanigans.
The times have changed. When their copyright trolling started, few paid attention. Now dozens are watching, many of them had been wronged by Steele & gang and have a hell of an intensive to vindicate.

Russian Communist party recently introduced a bill allowing to administratively block any pages that have information on "illegal" (i.e. not pre-negotiated with authorities) upcoming meetings and rallies.
Probably because 100 years ago they had a permit for the 1917 Communist Revolution.

Re: Re: Why the double standard at Techdirt?
You guys are lucky you can't read Russian. Because the army of trolls on the Russian sites push the idea that since Google is under the NSA thumb, it has recently replaced the satellite images in the area in order to discredit the impeccable evidence.
I'm horrified of the idea of Techdirt trolls learning about the International Forum Troll Exchange Program.

I called this guy Severo and told him he is funny.
He exploded:
You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?
I said "sorry, wrong number/actor/character" and hung up.
