Where do we see ourselves in 15 years? Where is all this government overreach leading to? - What is it going to take? I used to think it was checkpoints... nope. Drones... nope. Getting your fun parts fondled by strangers just to get on a plane... nope. Having every communication collected... nope. Having law enforcement use war toys like the ADS at home... nope. - When ppl? When are we going to say enough is enough? Maybe when you are being forced on a train to an internment camp... but I doubt it.
if confronted with this kind of aggression you need to fight... literally for your own life. Badge or not, I am going to defend myself with every option available to me. At least If I live, I will have the chance to see a jury.
"I couldn't imagine it is complicity. I think it is negligence," he said. "I don't want to believe in a worldwide conspiracy across all worldwide network operators. I think it is individual laziness and priority on network speed and network coverage and not security." - He wouldn't believe in a world wide conspiracy, but will believe ALL telcos techs were inept or negligent? Or just missed that patch... give me a break.
"Peter Griffin" identified games such as Candy Crush Saga which has been downloaded more than 500m times and gives players the option of paying money to access higher levels. He said that these games had a “moreishness quality, a bit like chocolate”."
"Of course, in between point A and point B, you have to imagine someone at the NSA rushed down to the FISA court seeking a Section 215 bulk "business records" order from every American car company for "mere metadata" on every driver in America, right? Just joking. Maybe." - Thats not funny. :)
I asked Mike for his opinion as a discussion point here on HIS blog. - I would ask the NSA directly but I bet the answer would be: Dear sir, REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. REDACTED. Yours truly... NSA.
His assumption that the "intelligence" agencies weren't being forthcoming with terror info wasn't that far off right?: http://consortiumnews.com/2014/01/07/nsa-insiders-reveal-what-went-wrong/ - Now the ends dont justify the means and NYPD are no angels, but was he entirely wrong? I can see wanting to do something... but yet again... emotions won over logic.
quick question... How do we tell the difference between the "good guys" and "bad guys"? I would trust the unknown bad guys to the well-known bad guys. At least with the unknown bad guys you have a fighting chance.
Just accept the fact that in 10 years we will look like China and Russia. Too many PPL are just trying to keep food on the table and oil in the basement... they have no time or finances to fight the good fight.
