Will you also create incentives to manufacture in the US and to make up the lost revenue from not being able to sell in China? Because that's the only way the Business community will be on board. It' s not impossible, but it is indeed a heavy task to accomplish…

Like I said before in another comment, I'm sure that Hawley knows full well what the first amendment says and is feigning stupidity and ignorance for the sake of his insurrectionist base.
Josh Hawley is a US Senator. Either some other publisher would publish him or he could publish himself. He has not been silenced. Simon & Schuster used discretion. Josh Hawley has not been censored (which is absurd because Josh Hawley is part of the Government).
...if you're so stupid that you don't know what that amendment actually says.
Josh Hawley has a law degree from Yale, so I'd hazard to guess that he knows exactly what it says and is feigning ignorance for the benefit of the GOP insurrectionist base.
This year has been grim for me. I lost two relatives of mine, two family friends of mine, and a chiptune musician friend of mine. While they didn't die due to COVID-19, the worldwide clogging of the hospitals with COVID-19 patients meant that they couldn't get the care they needed.
On the other side, I miss going out to the movie theaters (to wit, the Alamo Drafthouse), live shows, and other in-person meetings (not to mention taking vacations to places such as Japan!). That being said, even though I'm spending more money on things like video games and video streaming services, I'm actually saving more money because I'm making and eating food at home instead of eating out at restaurants. I work from home now, and it had no effect on my paycheck.
I realize I'm one of the lucky ones…the extremely lucky ones.
Re: 'Answer this question. No seriously, I don't know the answer
Sounds like had someone asked them their own question they likely would have gotten it wrong, as 230 provides platforms for 'immunity' in the same way me not being able to sue a newspaper because someone bought a copy and scribbled something defamatory in it would be 'immunity', something which I feel rather safe in saying most people would consider entirely reasonable.
I think a better analogy for §230 would be if someone went to an Applebee's and went into their bathroom and scribbled something defamatory on the stall, Person X wouldn't be able to sue Applebee's for libel, because they, you know, weren't the ones writing the defamatory statement; Applebee's only had the stall in question.
Could §230 be considered akin to anti-SLAPP laws in that they both get frivolous lawsuits tossed out quicker? The only thing that I know of that doesn't make §230 a true anti-SLAPP law is that it doesn't make the plaintiff pay the defendant's fees should the plaintiff lose (I'm sure there are a lot more, but IANAL).
(I guess I just undermined my own argument there, so I definitely am not a lawyer. 😉)
Re: So you're now with Trump that should reduce ties and trade?
What "call for action" do you suggest? We've amplified China's sphere of influence through outsourcing our manufacturing there so we don't really have any leverage to punish them. Unless we start making trade agreements so it's feasible to manufacture in the US again (which Trump did NOT do), we're going to end up being on the losing end of negotiations.
