What Congress intends and What Congress ends up doing are two entirely different matters. Sometimes, they're harmonious (e.g. §230), but nowadays? Naaahh.
I doubt you have the mental capacity to present a cogent and well-reasoned argument - you haven't managed to do it the last 10 years of shit-posting here.
Baghdad Bob's only consistent position is "Techdirt bad!"
Huh? You mean how some trolls and assholes get their comments hidden behind a pink wall that I can just click to show?
To be fair, it technically is a disappearance, but one that can easily be reappeared that even a 3-year-old toddler or a geriatric luddite could figure it out.
Huh, I'd assumed that they were on Netflix globally but it seems that was another deal that left the US out of the equation. Weird, as I'd have thought that if anyone was going to hoard the rights it would have been Disney.
So would I, but I guess in this instance it doesn't apply because Disney was merely the distributor and not the owner of the IP in question.
Anyway, good choice in content and I hope you discover some gems you'd not seen before!
Thanks! I'm currently watching Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind! I'm enjoying it, but there seems to be a lot of, um, expositional soliloquys.
I'm just glad it's over as I can now legally watch Close Enough (an excellent HBO Max original by JG Quintel whose scripts are mostly consulted by Bill Oakley who made the "Steamed Hams" bit on the Simpsons, among other episodes) and Studio Ghibli movies I missed out on, among lots of other content.
The problem with that is that Dr. Sebastian "Little Scale" Tomczak is Australian, and would have to be governed by Australian copyright laws instead of American ones.
That's an instance of copyfraud, though, because Creative Commons licenses are non-revocable and the licensor didn't hold up their end of the license agreement. If the person being dinged by a takedown had legal representation, they should definitely use it.
Re: "break up any [corporations] that have become too big"
Mike Masnick isn't the article, dumbass. In fact, the greenhouse is specifically for everyone to hear new ideas that don't necessarily follow what Techdirt's trying to do.

Typical of Congress…
Congress: "Big Tech is evil and must be stopped!"
Also Congress: "Let's make laws such that only Big Tech can comply with them, thereby locking in their position!"

Didn't that happen in a scene in The Incredibles?

Disappointed.
No, I'm not disappointed that I didn't get a nod (I mean, I usually don't).
I'm disappointed that Dr. Sebastian "Little Scale" Tomczak didn't chime in on the post about his 10-hour white noise youtube vid getting dinged for © infringement. Why? Because he's a facebook friend of mine and I specifically put him up to the TechDirt post in question.
Sad!
