Most people, myself included, don't have a group of data analysts to find out trends happening in society and language, so most of us use our personal experience to show us what society is doing.
Actually, I was wrong. It looks like it is about evenly split between Republicans and Democrats, with a larger percentage who classify themselves as "independent." It seems to vacillate back and forth between the two major parties.
As for alt-right categorization: I was told I was a white supremacist simply for asking why people dismiss the violence from Antifa, and that I should put my white hood back on and slither back to Alabama.
It might not be "mainstream" to the owners of Twitter, but it is in the general population. There are more Republicans registered than there are Democrats. And they control more state houses, as well as Congress and the presidency, than Democrats do. That seems pretty "mainstream" to me.
If you're talking about the one that restricted refugees from certain countries: if it was "banning Muslims" it would have included Saudi Arabia, at the least.
Imagine a world where the DEA didn't exist. Imagine a world where law enforcement was accountable for their actions. Imagine a world where freedom reigned above all else. Imagine a world where unicorns roam free and rainbows burst out of everyone's behinds...
So here we are, in 2017, and these are really tough cases to stand behind:
1. A guy who won't reveal his password because it's a 5th amendment violation. He's quite possibly a pedophile, so we have to defend a scumbag's fifth amendment rights.
2. We have neo-Nazis trying to get hosting online, and exercise free speech in the streets. So we have to defend scumbags' first amendment rights.
3. We have, again, a bunch of pedophiles arrested who were hit with malware that violated their fourth amendment rights. So we have to defend scumbags' fourth amendment rights.
I don't think the government could come up with a more perfect trifecta to help it strip away our rights.
Is it possible to get a restraining order against the police if they are harassing you for causing one of their coworkers to pay out for their misdeeds?
Seems like a logical thing to do if they are hell-bent on getting their petty revenge.
I didn't say this particular item and correction brought my disdain. It is, though, a general trend to blare out false statements, while whispering the correction.
My main problem with news corrections is that, while the false statement is in large type on the front page above the fold, the correction is a tiny box at the bottom of page A20.
If they put as much emphasis on the correction as they do the original false statement, I'd believe they weren't acting deliberately to smear people.
Maybe they're not making as much as they used to since they lost the "copyright" and royalties to "Happy Birthday" and now they're trying to make up for it?
I was thinking that people would start putting this inside their laptops or phones, so when they are searched, the device trying to read the data will get fried.
