I was desperately seeking synfig help, wanting to help develop it...but there's no synfig happening in New York. I'm still eager to contribute, if there's anyone to collaborate with. Synfig as it is now is a disaster for non-coders.
Who is to judge what is artistic and what isn't? Whether modification is done "painstakingly" or with an automatic filter is irrelevant, and "sweat of the brow" does not make something "art."
Both cameras and Photoshop filters are filters. No one should "own" anything just because they placed a filter on it, whether they did so "artistically" or not.
I don't think she's blaming Twitter and Facebook, she's blaming producers for reacting to them and other focus groups. She has a point, and this is not an unusual pattern. I'm not defending the Spider-Man show, which I haven't seen (and didn't want to) but it's true that nothing kills a unique vision faster than placing audience feedback above the vision.

Attribution is not a "right" of authors; it's a right of the public. The public deserves to know where a work came from, within reason anyway.
