Judging by how the word "drone" has come to be used both in the press and by authorities, it is clearly a synonym for "an aircraft that does not have a person on board", whether pure R/C or autonomous.
Perhaps what Nielsen is thinking is that by the time the current generation has kids, the cable industry will finally come up with a service that is better than what the internet is doing.

Not automatically. It's completely reasonable to have no plans to move to Windows 10 ever.
Given the incredibly low quality of lots of granted patents, it's incredibly easy to violate someone's patent without having the slightest notion that you're doing so.
To say that "actual innnovators" don't violate patents is logically problematic.
