That boilerplate instruction happens at the phone line of my medicaid clinic in NYC; directing people to 9/11 seems like an abdication of duty considering that cops make the situation that much worse. That being said, I'm fortunate enough that I have my shit together to handle myself if things should go south, which is usually temporarily.
If Aliens from the planet Remulac arrive near France, we would need to deliver food from diesel trucks entirely to two (or one) of those aliens, because AFAIK they consume mass quantities.
Sending health professionals out into the street to put out fires doesn't sound like it's getting to the root cause.
Um, Denver isn't sending health professionals to put out fires; the fire department is doing that. However, if there is, say, a person who is loud and obnoxious or threatening to take their own life, a health professional would be more appropriate for the situation than someone who shoots first and doesn't ask questions.
To be honest, there have been a handful of good things happening in 2020 (like everything from 1924 entering the public domain, to be certain). It's just that it's been a rarity this year so far.

Let's be real, Cryptocurrency has its problems too, such as volatile fluctuations in value and shady and/or clueless people involved in it (if you don't think the latter is problematic, I subscribed to a bitcoin mailing list who didn't even figure out how to BCC and then everybody knew my email address. Why should I deal with such people?)
If the wiki is to be believed, the open-source components are stuff like the FreeBSD networking code and the Stagefright multimedia framework, not the OS itself.
Too bad they didn't actually save anyone from paying $199 (or more) for actual Apple earbuds.
Of course. I did the job myself by sticking with the old wired (with microphone) earbuds. I don't want to get something that would only work with Apple Products; I also have a Nintendo Switch!
