I which case the response would be blah blah blah ongoing investigation blah blah we thank you for your interest blah blah blah we are sorry we are unable to accommodate your request at this time.
This is them just flat out ignoring legit requests.
But all of this makes me wonder if "my site's been seized by ICE" is becoming a meme, a la the rickroll, in which sites looking for attention suddenly pretend that they were seized by ICE.
I don't think it's so much of a rickroll as it is a SEO.
I am under the impression that Mike implemented this because a lot of people need their daily TD fix but Mike needs some time off and it was a nice compromise.
I don't know why it seems meaningless to you, I feel it is a light diversion and is sometimes quite pleasant in that you find something you missed during the week.
There are not cases before the court because the cost to settle and license is less than the cost of fighting in court, especially if you are a small company. If you are big then you get the cell phone companies suing each other.
What you miss is that in a system without patents, the investors (and companies) that put the money into the research to create the original products just won't do it if they don't see good economic return and as a consequence will fall behind their competitors who choose to invest. If others can easily replicate their work, standing on their shoulders and claiming the profits, it pretty much means they have to have a solid business plan instead of relying on a government granted monopoly.
Sense of entitlement is asking me to pay you because I want to listen to the song my kid downloaded.
I didn't pay when I had to borrow the record from a friend and make a cassette of it, I'm sure not going to pay to transfer a file across my home network.
If I really like it I might buy my own copy, but with the gimme gimme gimme attitude, not so much.
"Is there any politician that actually owns a business? "
Yes we have "part time" politicians in Utah that run businesses. Mostly they do just like the full time politicians... vote for what the lobbyists pay them for. Occasionally they will pass a law that carves out a nice little benefit for their particular area of business, and then when they get called out on it, they put on the kid with a hand in the cookie jar face.

If you wish to supply us with your real name I'm confident that it could be arranged for you to be arrested.
Why it could even be arranged for you to be arrested for both infringement and child porn.
Perhaps that would help you understand.
