We "hire" 2 Senators per state. It's THEIR job to read, learn and most of all, LISTEN to what the constituents in their districts/states want and vote accordingly.
The do not do that, nor do they read the bills they pass. How can anyone not see the serious problem with that - and the ramifications that follow?
All the excess lawyers, assistance etc. etc. should be unnecessary. They are a burden on the taxpayers and have no interest in the will of the people. (Only in their taxpayer funded paychecks.)
That's nasty to call someone a liar and a moron...no wonder you use "anonymous coward".
But I had to laugh at "freetard". Then I thought, "hey, good name for a web site!"
Then I went one step further and popped "freetard.com" into my browser. Lo and behold, someone already has a web site up and running with that domain name! LOL!
Oh but wait! I had an idea that "copied" someone's already implemented idea!! OMG AM I A CRIMINAL NOW?
Fewer PEOPLE are working, period. The entire economy is in the gutter. If the little guy can't work, he can't buy anything, much less indulge in "entertainment" expense.
Several years ago I had a YouTube account/channel - whatever. I had oh, a couple dozen self made videos on there. So one day I upload one that had a clip from a song that from my own PURCHASED CD I had made a mp3 out of.
I was told my content was illegal. At first I couldn't figure out what the heck was wrong with my video - then I researched.
So, I walked away from YouTube and never looked back but that is what enlightened me to this whole music battle - and I don't even get into music file sharing.
"...CONSERVATIVE judges are more likely than liberal judges ..."
Oh for the love of pete here we go ... With all due respect considered, I can't keep my lips zipped this time 'round but before I unload just please do note that I respect your right to feel that way and state as such; however, I will now take my right to express a resounding "BUT".
Every discussion has someone who just HAS to start in on this crap i.e., "Conservative vs. Liberal", "Bush vs. Obummer" - when the heck are we going to LET IT GO and understand this is no longer about party politics?
All you accomplish when you start that rant is more division amongst what would otherwise be people who by and large agree on something far, FAR bigger than party politics - OUR COLLECTIVE FREEDOM.
Can we ever let go of all that petty nonsense and pull together to focus on the larger picture? The fact is, the current administration and the previous - one on each side of the "fence" - continue to trample on our freedoms. That should be the main concern. Personally, it's my opinion the current uber liberal/progressive admin is far, FAR worse but both are at fault.
IMHO, it has now come down to We, the People vs. Tyrannical Government, period. And tyranny is just another form of terrorism.
Wow. That's a whole lot of time and fooling around to invest in a book! Personally I enjoy my quiet time (phone OFF) to relax and get absorbed in a good book, not analyze and dissect it page by page, line by line.
However, I can see the vast possibilities here, and many embrace the social networking craze so I can also see where aspects of this could be quite popular, especially connecting with a favorite author. But if I've already paid for a book, I'm sure as shootin' not going to pay to talk about it. . . Just sayin'.
My mom is an avid book reader and loves to email her favorite authors if she can find a means of contacting them. Some are good enough to respond kindly to her enthusiastic praise of their works and that makes her day.
Or uses YouTube to learn how to build a dirty bomb, or how ball peen hammers can be used for serious injury etc. etc., then goes out and seriously maims someone (or worse).
Don't see that covered under "interests of public health"...
This isn't funny, this isn't something to be scoffed at. This is something that needs to be taken VERY seriously because it's very real. I'm so sorry to see people here acting like this is just "nothing" and that others are "being paranoid".
Bear with me and allow me to share a story from 3-1/2 years ago where I was under threat of being arrested for a link...will try to keep it as short as possible.
Late 2007, just starting up a web design service - I wanted to offer local businesses and non profit's an opportunity to have a web presence w/o exorbitant costs. I wanted to help my local community, in other words.
Back then, links pages were all the rage so I put one up to "local resources". One of those resources was the local police dept. web site. Now this is far more complex but I'll just jump ahead - the [THEN] mayor sent me a cease and desist to "REMOVE THE LINK" and then had the police start an investigation on me and my "Link".
I had to get a lawyer and sue to stop the harassment - oh then the police started their cover-up tracks and fast and made it sound like "oh no, we weren't investigating YOU" - but oh yes, they were going to and I've got the voice mail to prove it.
Don't believe me? I've nothing to hide, look up Reisinger vs. Perez.
And please you naysayers, don't be fools. If it happened to you, you'd be singing on hell of a different tune ,I assure you.
This nonsense has to be stopped. A link does not a criminal make!!
