I think they were trying to keep their money making practices in play. I also think that they offered support in order to secure that immunity from the bill ramifications as a sort of shield for the legal battlefield SOPA is going to create.
you should go back and re-read the posts on this. Besides GoDaddy was exempt from that to begin with. Not to mention that its not quite as simple as just hitting a button to make it all go away. Not to mention the free speech implications (which is our number one complaint anyway).
I moved mine. That is all I can do. Its up the others to make their call. Laziness should not play into something like this. If we want to prove to people that we are serious about or position we HAVE to follow through with the threat.
So in many cases where a normal citizen is accused of infringe ment from an IP the people suing her do not care that it may have been someone else using it. They go after the owner. So in this case WHOSE IP was it, or it just an outward IP for Congress? In that case does it fall to the Speaker of the House? Shouldn't the BSA be going after them as it does others for the same thing?
Keep moving the domains. Show the other companies that we netzians are not to be fucked with. If that has to be with the body of GoDaddy before them so be it. They started the war. Let them know WE will end it.
That letter would be quite fantastic, it were not also so close to the truth. I would prefer to replaced Tsar Bomba with a few strategically placed MOABs though. I really like Venice Beach and it would be shame for it not be visited again.
Good going Louis CK. You were willing to experiment and by doing so you made some really good money, and received an overwhelming response to your humanness throughout it all. Kudos to you sir, and I really enjoyed your Beacon Theater show.
I never reference those specific cases. It was more of a general statement than anything really. I must say though that they have got you hooked on some serious fucking kool-aid.
As to the Tenenbaum though. Don't you think that the doctor who killed Michael Jackson is going to serve less time than Tenenbaum could is okay? Or the fact that his fines and fees were less than than what Tenenbaum is looking at is somehow wrong? Tenenbaum let some people download some music. Dr Murray fucking killed someone.
I am rather amazed that the irony of this seems to escape you. Or you are just playing stupid in order not to compromise your insane industry position on all of this.
The RIAA did not care when they brought suit against someone for infringement, and the accused said "it wasn't me." The RIAA would call BS and keep on with the lawsuit. Now the RIAA has been suspected of infringement and are using the EXACT SAME EXCUSE they would always shoot down in court. While I do not see CBS pursuing them in this matter so we will never get a judges decision on it. Its still a little funny to see the tables turned.
