They will only double down, claiming that it didn't work because it didn't go far enough, and propose even harsher legislation with the same justifications.
This (building all the hardware the same and disabling/enabling features by software) has been standard in the machine tool industry for 40 years. Want more memory, more work offsets, more macro variables etc., You hand over a few thousand dollars and their tech punches in a code.
If the protesters are going to be paying the police's wages for the duration of the protest, then the police need to be under the command of the protesters.
Indeed. If games of the intellect were to be included, why hasn't the "sport" of chess been included since the beginning? The Olympics are about physical prowess; other competitions have their own, different, places.
I disagree with one of your points. I shouldn't have to forgo one right in order to exercise another. I have the right to speak freely, worship or not as I please, be armed, be free from unreasonable searches and seizures, not quarter soldiers in my house, etc. all at the same time.
If I threaten or commit violence against another unprovoked then I deserve the weight of law being brought against me, but until that point I have the right to be armed as I please, especially if I anticipate violence being threatened or brought against me.

Is it okay then for a business to refuse service to an individual based solely on their political affiliation? Would you be okay with getting kicked out of a restaurant because your name was on a list of people who voted a particular way, expressed a particular viewpoint, or visited a particular website? This issue is coming to a head because of how public our lives are becoming; it's pretty much unavoidable that soon everything a person does and says will be a matter of public record. How much of that should be usable against you and how?
“We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men – not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate, and to defend causes that were, for the moment, unpopular” ― Edward R. Murrow
Another aspect to consider is that those genes aren't randomly selected like lottery numbers or a cryptographic key, they're actual traits. So if you're the same ethnicity, share ancestry, etc. you have a much higher chance than random for any given Gene to match.
