I still don’t know that CBP is Customs and Border Protection without looking it up separately.
If only you had access to some sort of device that was capable of doing that. Perhaps by typing three letters into some sort of white rectangle, similar to the one that you don't seem to have had any problem typing a 95-word post into.
Its addictive to kids & bad for them... and?
Take a walk down the cereal aisle with me, lets hit the candy aisle next.
Whataboutism notwithstanding, there are government regulations limiting what ingredients children's cereals can include, what information has to appear on their boxes, and how the companies that make them are allowed to market them.

(Still not as good as the one she forwarded me that ranted for several pages about how Hollywood celebrities should just shut up and stay out of politics and then closed with a quote by President Reagan.)
Some twenty years ago, my grandma forwarded me an e-mail, purported to have been written by Charlton Heston, which ranted for several pages about political correctness and how people shouldn't be afraid to tell the truth even if it's offensive to certain demographics.
It ended by going off on a tangent about how we should boycott Newsweek for depicting Y2K preppers as being predominantly Christian.
Chuck -- or whoever actually wrote it -- didn't seem to see the contradiction.
This is a contract case not copyright, as long as one of the parties can produce a contract I would expect it to be relatively simple.
Yes, if the facts of this case were entirely different, it would be simple.
You can't terminate a copyright you don't own.
Huh? Of course you can. That's the entire point of termination: you can terminate the sale after 56 years.
I think perhaps what you mean is you can't terminate a copyright you never owned. Which is true, and the question is, were these work-for-hire, or were they sales?
And given what happened in Marvel v Kirby, I expect these suits will get settled before any of them get to the Supreme Court, because nobody knows how SCOTUS is going to rule and neither side wants to risk losing.
How can you defend your work on Batman against people claiming to write Batman stories? Authorship. You're the original author and you can prove it, so you're free to tell people that someone else's works are not canon.
Individuals would notice the constant spam telling you that your domain is about to expire, or at least that's my experience with my domains.
Yeah, but only on the e-mail addresses that are tied to the registration. It's not difficult to conceive of a situation where someone would ask a more tech-savvy friend or representative to set up a domain for them, or switch e-mail addresses later and forget to switch the registration over, or what-have-you.
I've worked on websites for a lot of small business owners. Just because they're good at self-promotion doesn't mean they're on top of basic things like keeping their registration updated.

Yes, I certainly can't see any way this system you're proposing could be abused if Mitch McConnell were to become majority leader again.

Huh, didn't realize I'd missed the Marvel v Everybody thread.
Anyway, here's a bunch of stuff I wrote about Marvel v Kirby back in 2010. A lot of it still applies here.
