I had a UPS package (actually it was 1 of 6) being delivered from vendor that somehow got an incorrect zip code put on it. The other five showed up just fine, but I tracked that one as it circled Michigan for 3 days straight.
Would have been more funny if my customer hadn't been so anxious for his product.
Re: But your implicit alternative would leave no REAL claims.
AND SO, Mike's position ends up holding that publishing negatives is more important than properly protecting works that are created with large input of cash and time! That's simply silly.
First off, publishing critiques and rebuttals to what others have said is absolutely protected speech regardless if YOUR opinion of them.
Secondly, this statement reeks of only allowing those with larges amounts of cash to be allowed Free Speech rights. I thought you were aligned against "The Rich". Waffle much?
Your copyright framing is a LIE, Mike. It's MUCH bigger, MUCH worse.
Read the WHOLE article Blue. Mike acknowledges that he is only touching on the copyright part with:
And that's just on the copyright side, not even touching on the patent stuff, or the corporate sovereignty "investor state dispute resolution" mechanisms that would allow companies to sue countries who don't give them the copyrights or patents they want.
Once again, if you maybe took just a second before you rush in to post *something* on every article you wouldn't look so stupid.
Re: And that's why information held by corporations should be strictly regulated.
...won't be long before gov't can with one click literally make anyone an "unperson" as in "1984", cut off from all banking and literally not able to even buy food.
Well, that's one vision of the future. While I tend to agree that the gradual replacement of legal tender (ie: folding money) with electronic transactions is problematic in regards to privacy and control issues, I don't believe it will ever reach such doomsday proportions that you are projecting here. Humans have bartered amongst each other for goods and services since the dawn of time and nothing will ever truly replace that.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. GET THAT CRAP OFF THE INTERNET. I have run across it. I have reported amd TRIED to delete it. I have reported it for YEARS.
I just have to wonder what search terms and what websites you visit. I don't believe I've ever seen CP on the net. One really has to be activitly looking for such things to find them AFAIK.
Maybe they could try getting their facts straight BEFORE THEY MURDER INNOCENT PEOPLE.
I don't know what you are trying to say here. Who is murding who and what facts?
Get the people producing, purchasing, and looking for it and prosecute.
Agreed. Google is not those people though.
However, there are good people who see bad things. Don't frame and kill them.
I don't know what you saying here either. Frame and kill who?
S o Amazon is the bad guy here? For what? Providing services that the consumers actually want, like one-stop internet shopping?
Amazon is a prime example of the underdog making it big time in a highly competitive market. What exactly is your beef with them? That they became TOO successful and now they need their wings clipped? Why?
Re: Re: @ "Me" - "at least aren't turning over the keys."
Also, from the underlines "___" as divider, you're apparently the "lots of lines" AC who was trolling me last week, and still don't know the horizontal rule tag.
Strictly from an aesthetics point of view, Me's addition of the short line separating the quoted text from his own is visually appealing to the eye and adds to the overall ambiance of the comment. I give it a 8.5.
Whereas your comment with the ugly long line separating your top lines of your bullshit from the bottom lines of your bullshit offends my artistic sensibilities. I give yours a 1.0. Maybe you should put a little more effort into it.
If there's no penalty in the law then there's no penalty!
Now wait a minute Blue, I thought it was your belief that Common Law trumps statutes (I don't believe this is true, but apparently you do) and that only the actual creators have inalienable rights to their own creations based on your (faulty) interpretation of Common Law.
But in this instance your are saying that the statute is the upmost authority and it's OK for any third party to exercise rights on creations that don't belong to them.
It's amazing how your arguments change depending on the subject. Apparently your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Re:
Ahhh. You are attacking this idea based on the name of the website.
This displays two things:
1) You are an idiot in a hurry. RapGenius although targeted at the Rap crowd, has expanded into a lot of genres and stuff beyond music lyrics.
2) Your obvious (and lame) ad-homs indicate that you apparently have no real argument against this idea.

What about not connecting to it your router? Do these TV's require an always on data connection to function?
What about using restrictive (whitelist) settings on the router firewall to prevent the phoning home part, but allowing the content access?
Is this even possible? I only have "dumb" TV's, so I'm curious.

Yes. I do. But, that doesn't mean I can't get annoyed with someone trying to shove their view down my throat as if it's the ONLY answer.
