I think I'll grab a kleenex as I photoshop some images. Glad I use a computer for collage work, because I hated having to use band-aids after getting a paper cut.
Rapists writing laws on rape is like the MPAA and RIAA writing copyright laws. It's a narrow segment of the population with a vested interest that screws over everyone else.
Yes, we elect people to do the legislation, however the big money are the ones that write and pay for those laws to become enacted. Then the rest of us pay for it after wards.
This is how a democratic republic should work. With people crafting laws, then passing them onto legislators for refinement and passage. It could add another layer to the Checks and Balances system, where the People and the Government are checked and balanced by each other.
We can't have a pure democratic rule, otherwise we'd end up with mob rule. Those in the majority imposing their will on those in the minority.
DaVinci's work and illustrations of the human body, inside and out, had some mark him as a satanist who was performing dark rituals. They used his notations and designs as proof. He was also a weapons designer, and those who employed him wanted his work locked up and out of enemy hands.
Galileo is a more notable case for his discoveries in astronomy. Pointing out that the Earth is NOT the center of the Universe, much less the solar system. His punishment for exposing knowledge that goes against the official doctrine was to rebuke his claims and was placed under house arrest.
Actually he isn't too far off. Hollywood of today can be compared to the Auto industry of the 1970s. They have this attitude of "We know what Americans want, and that's what we'll give them."
In the mean time, the market becomes flooded with imports and new ideas that don't fit the old model. Except in this case, replace "Large American Cars versus Small Japanese Imports" with "3-D Movies versus Internet Productions."
For years, Las Vegas was billed as "The Next Hollywood." Movie and recording studios had set up shop in Henderson (town just South of Vegas) and a number of artists had moved there. Plus Vegas is supposed to be "The Entertainment Capital of the World."
With that in mind, I wonder how much of Sen. Reid's support for PIPA was paid for by the RIAA and MPAA.
I used to like Reid. I even voted for him. But soon after he became Senate Majority Leader, he seemed to have lost his mind.
Again, Google simply has no significant content business so it invents reasons why it cannot be subject to regulation.

This is:
"Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." —Genesis 1:28 (KJV)
