Why are the immigration ban and the alienation of Mexico loved by Russia? Because they encourage the citizens of other countries to dislike the USA. Which strengthens Moscow's influence with them.
@Hugo S Cunningham By and large, the problem isn't police unions. Unions are supposed to stick up for their members. The problem is police management, the Chiefs, the politicians who are above them, and the citizens who think police can do no wrong, who instinctively comply with "authority". Those are the ones who don't have the spine to deal with the issue, who give away management powers in negotiations with the union, who fail to hold officers personally responsible, fear to being called "anti-police".
Unfortunately, as we have seen, some of the public likes thugs and bullies.
Kinda depends on the details of the law. For $50 you can get a dashcam that loop-records onto a SD card. Mount it in the coat closet. Now, depending on how the law reads, you've got your surveillance. And if anybody tries to steal a coat, you'll have a video of it. At least if you notice before it gets recorded over.
The climate of Iceland isn't actually all that frozen (an overall average of about 5C). The company should find a new name, I suggest "Yakutsk Foods", after the Russian city whose mean temperature is about -10C, that is to say, definitely frozen (they have never reported a temperature above freezing between 10 November and 14 March).
I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that the sales tax varies from one state to another.
State to state? It can vary by product, location (county/city/metro area/location within a city), etc. The state I am in almost certainly has hundreds of different sales/excise tax rates. However, for any given product, location, and means of delivery, the rate could be calculated and the final price posted by the retailer. Petrol stations sell at the posted price.
I gotta admit, it does make VAT sound good. Except that we'd then apply other random taxes on top of that posted price.
A quick look through Wikipedia will open your eyes to the corruption of the Clinton machine. From rigging the primary, which all Dems should be furious about
Yeah, and I am, but that's par for the course with both major parties. Ask Ron Paul supporters about what the Republican apparatchiks did to them. The only reason they didn't do it to Trump was nobody thought Trump had a chance, until it was too late.
So we have two less-than-desirable candidates. One is a sociopath bigot bully with Mussolini tendencies. Corrupt? He's never had a govt job, but he cheats on his taxes and screws his workers out of their pay, and loves undocumented workers so long as he can pay them less, so that's a promising start. The other is a center-right apparatchik who is careful, plodding and methodical. Corruption level for her seems to be average, more the arrogance of power ("those rules don't apply to me") not much different from her compatriots of the other party. I know which one scares me more.
