That's almost exactly why Brexit and Boris Johnson as UK PM happened.
The BBC gave in to the 'neutrality' doctrine so wholeheartedly (on some subjects) that poisonous people like Nigel Farage, Boris, Gove (and others) got far too much air time to dunk on "experts" (please parse with air-quotes as added by the above individuals).
Maybe the Hollywood dimwits thought that the waiver would cover movies about covid-19 vaccine stories. Though what relationship any such stories would have with the truth would be extremely open to question anyway, given Hollywood's capacity for re-writing history. (U-571 anyone?)
Time to coin a new term "the Kardashian effect" .. when the Streisanding for publicity rather than anything else.
Fake.. that just about sums up the entire Kardashian clan anyway.
But the only purpose of the DRM is to stop that 1 instance.
It does nothing positive for the 10 million instances... and they're the legitimate, paying customers that you really want to keep, if you want to stay in business.
Just like the US congress seem to believe they have authority over the planet, the government of Utah seems to believe they have authority over the union of states?
(Side thought: when people talk of the 'union', what do they think about Puerto Rico, Washington DC, or Guam? Special cases? Loop-holes? Or inconvenient irrelevancies?)
Why on earth is it embarrassing and uncomfortable to admin that humans are sexual creatures? Without sexual attraction and stimulation, none of these mouth-breathing ignoramuses would even be here.
Hmm, perhaps there's an argument for stopping sexual reproduction after all?
Unfortunately it is very likely that the broadband providers will not be in the least bit interested in serving the low income (urban poor of any colour) or low margin (rural below median income) segment of the market until those segments become profitable.
In the UK, that didn't happen until broadband connectivity came bundled with premier league football provided by Sky, which the (mainly male) analogous segments in the UK seem to treat as a higher priority than almost any thing else.
There are, of course, still people and isolated regions of the British Isles that are underserved by broadband connectivity of any meaningful standard, but it seems the proportions are not as bad as in the continental US.
Given that competitive egaming seems to have largely come out of the Far East (Japan, S Korea, etc.), and derives a lot of the culture from having sumo-like stables of players, or K-Pop-like manufactured bands (with rotating-door catalogues of members), I'm not surprised to see a similar culture of control and heavy-handedness around the tournaments as well.
If the culture had been derived from western team sports instead, i suspect the results would have been different. (not necessarily better, just different)
Clearly they're lazy as previously stated then, because implementing 2FA need not be complicated. Hell, I did it in a day using free software not six months ago.
I wonder if we can have the same insightful, funny & flag buttons for the articles as for the comments? Though FW & LW might be unnecessary as FW is clearly the case every time, and few article writers seem to believe they could be writing the LW on a topic if they want discussion to follow.
They have alternatives within the cloud market.
They could even avoid using cloud services altogether and host the entire system on their own computers using open-source software, with only a leased line connection to t'internet. (It would need to be a high capacity line, but there are plenty of providers out there, depending upon where you are)
There's no antitrust behaviour going on, Parler are just too cheap and lazy to build their own.
