Most durable policy changes happen incrementally. If we can knock off QI—arguably the most egregious and cancerous of all police privileges—we can always introduce more legislation later to address other policies.
It's all too easy to imagine how many wrongfully convicted death-row inmates weren't able to get their convictions overturned before their sentences were carried out.
That's the thing about right-wingers: they'll believe the most ludicrous shit with no evidence whatsoever, as long as it validates their fucked-up worldview. I am mystified that critical thinking is so completely anathema to them.
Misspent money, redirected to highly questionable activity, all in service to a misguided program.
Legislators need to take a long, hard look at funding priorities. If drugs are a "problem," interdiction and enforcement have shown themselves to be ineffective, catastrophic failures.
Maybe this mission creep is the DEA's way of trying to achieve relevance.
That the FBI served a search warrant on a sitting US senator means that A.G. Bill Barr was certainly involved in the process—in all likelihood, directly involved.
If this stream-of-consciousness word salad of misdirection, insults, bullshit, and lies is the "context" they want to wrap around "hoax," well,... I don't think they're really bolstering their case.
